This Vow2 NGK glow plug heater has been designed & built with the aid of experts. By heating oil you are reducing the viscosity of the oil making it more like Diesel. This reduces the stress on your fuel injection pump and allows a cleaner burn. This is a 12 volt heater that reaches a high temperature much faster than indirect heaters or water heaters. By the time that your normal diesel glow plugs have heated the engine this unit is ready to deliver warm oil to the pump. Veg oil gives the same mileage as Diesel with the same performance. Heating neat Diesel to 90oC does not give better mileage it just kills the car

The unit fits in the fuel line before and/or after the fuel filter & heats the oil to a maximum of 90 degrees.

The unit is fitted with a thermal sensor so that the oil should not exceed 90 degrees.

The unit fits all 8 & 10 mm standard fuel lines.

This unit will switch itself on & off automatically as and when it is needed. We also use a thermal compound which helps ensure that the unit reads the temperature more accurately. 

The heater is safe to use with any combination of used or new veg oil/bio Diesel.

The unit can be fitted by any competent DIYer.

The patent office registered Vow2 range of heaters were the first glow plug heater and is unlike any other heater currently available on Ebay. It is the only scientifically engineered and patented 12V electric glow plug oil heater on Ebay. To start with it is the only full contact heater, which offers significant benefits over non-contact heaters. Because the NGK plug is in full contact with the oil it gives super fast heating of the oil even at high fuel flow rates, no need to wait for the aluminum to heat up. This means that it is suited to single tank conversions and short journeys. This unit is also suitable for long journeys and speeding up changeover times in twin tank conversions.

Contrary to my competitors who claim fast indirect fuel heating they are actually very slow to heat. This is a point I am happy to demonstrate at any time. Further to this there is a small risk of fire from either method despite their claims to the coterie. If the plug in either unit were to overheat they both have the same potential to cause a problem which incidentally is the same as that of your deep fat fryer. The heating is controlled by a 90oC thermostatic temperature sensor. The unit is only on when the ignition is on and turns itself on and off as and when needed.. 

We at Vow2 are always looking to improve reliability, safety and quality to this end we are now only using high quality NGK glow plugs to ensure long life and reliability. Plugs used in air (especially cheaper Falcon or Welman plugs) will burn out after a couple of months (if not sooner). By submerging our NGK plugs in the oil they never reach the very high temperatures of our competitors and will last for well over a year. As the plugs generate heat it is immediately transferred to the oil allowing almost instant hot oil.

By having the plug in the oil you get a more even heat than that given by indirect heating. The indirect unit heats the outside edge of the oil but the center of the flow will still be cold. While in both examples below the plug will heat the unit in the Vow2 that heat is available immediately to the oil then the block. Consider the example below.

While this example is simplistic it does give you a good impression of the problem. Now consider what will happen as the flow rate increases and the oil spends less time within the heating chamber. In the Vow2 the block will cool then the outside edges of the oil. In our competitors units the oil will cool then the block. It’s not a pretty picture and it is why the Vow1 (An indirect heater)  was never sold commercially and why the Vow2 was developed. Pumping cold oil will stress the pump and clog injectors. This will lead to coking of the cylinders, smoking and poor emissions. In fact you might as well not bother using an indirect heater and use a cheaper water heater. Why take a chance on nearly warm when you can get really warm.

The difference between each heater in the Vow2 range is related to the speed at which they heat and the flow rate they can cope with. The rule of thumb is the bigger the CC of engine and the higher the % of oil the bigger the heater. You cannot use too big a heater as it will just be off more than on. You can however use too small a heater.

Each ready built heater comes with a pre wired harness using over rated cable to ensure reliability and robustness as well as top quality NGK glow plugs and all the bits needed to fit it with and that includes a simple to follow diagram. Any competent DIYer can fit this in less than an hour. You also get technical support by Phone, Email and the website. In some cases where real difficulty is encountered we can put you in touch with somebody else in your area that has a vow 2 conversion. The unit fits inline before or after the fuel filter, or both depending on the unit, and heats the fuel up to around 80oC, this is dependant on fuel flow rate and starting temp. Check out the Frybrid website under VO THEORY and make your own mind up about the temperature! Fuel heat should not exceed 90oC. Fits 8 and 10mm fuel lines. Non contact heaters will struggle to deliver 80oC fuel even at low flow rates in the summer.
