COLORFUL LITTLE LADY
She's only 3 3/4" tall and 1 1/2" at her widest, but she's really a "stand out" and "outstanding" little perfume bottle. Not only are her colors vivid and her outfit unusual, but unlike many older perfumes, the original glass rod "dauber" is still attached to the cork as you can see with you "take her head off!" Unfortunately, the rod has a blunt end rather than the point it probably had when made, but considering the age of the item, it's amazing the rod remains at all!
The details on the bottle are great. She wears a pointy hat decorated with a bit of dark blue and it sits on her lovely brown hair. Not only does she have rosy cheeks, but clearly defined eyes, eyebrows and a little smile. I love her bright red-orange bodice which ends in points front and back. Her white overskirt is made to reveal the bright green skirt below it. But I especially like the way the white is cut out and each piece ends in an orange "pom-pom" to match her bodice. The details continue with her yellow stockings and red-orange shoes. She seems to be sitting or leaning against the white base. To complete the matching color scheme, out little lady is holding something yellow in one of her hands.
The are no obvious marks on this piece except for the faint remains of a circular stamp perhaps that was once on the unglazed base, but I would say she is German-made, probably pre WWII. I see no chips, cracks or damages other than the point which is missing from the glass rod inside.
