INCREDIBLY RARE

VINTAGE

"PERFUMATON"

PENNY OPERATED PERFUME SPRAY VENDING MACHINE

 

This is a wonderful and extremely unusual old vending machine, presumably dating from the early 20th century.

I have attempted to research it, but have been unable to find any other example.

It operates on an old penny (5 included with the machine)

Upon insertion of the penny, the handle is pulled down, which in turn operates a vacuum pump to dispense a jet of perfume from the spray nozel. At the same time, the penny is deposited into the base of the machine.

There is a glass bottle to hold the perfume of choice.

It is in excellent condition and fully complete, including the key. The vacuum pump seems to operate well, as it sends a good jet of air out of the nozel. I have been unable to get it to spray liquids, but I believe this is due to the cork bottle seal, which has degraded with age and requires replacing.

The case is oak, while the door is aluminium and complete with a vanity mirror, which is also in perfect condition.
