 This is a heavy brass casting of an original antique French Ormolu Lion - made over 40 years ago by a professional caster for an antique dealer as a private commission. It is quite unique as only one casting of this lion was ever made. I do not know the origins of the original lion it was cast from but I know it was definately French. The caster is no longer with us to ask. Information given to us by the owner/donater who had them given to them by the antique dealer who had them made.

It was then mounted (bolted) onto pale green velvet and framed in a very ornate rococo stucco frame.

The frame measures 19" (49cm) x 15"(38cm).

There is a little crack to the stucco frame on the edge lefthand side - easily repairable.

This work was done about 40 years ago - all the above information has been given to us by the owner who has kindly donated it to us with 2 others of horses which we also have listed on Ebay at this time - please take a look.
