This is a vintage French hand turned coffee bean roaster.






Measuring approx 16" tall x 12" long x 7" wide, the drum and its housing are a mix of iron work and steel. The handle is 7" long and would have had a wooden hand hold to protect from the heat.

Designed to stand either on top of a woodburning stove or with coals in its own grate, you could sit in the inglenook and turn the handle while chatting with friends and family and appreciating the fresh coffee aroma as the beans roasted - mmmmmmm.

In good strong working condition you could either have a go at roasting your own beans in this traditional way or it would make a superb conversation piece. Also especially for this time of year, you can use them to roast chestnuts in too!

Whether for display or use, this is a lovely piece of French social history.
