I have been asked to sell a collection of novelty perfume bottles that belonged to a lady who was born in 1895. After her death in 1975, the bottles were passed on to her nephew and they've been in storage ever since. Most of these unique collectibles probably date from the 1940's to 1960's. Be sure to check out my other auctions for more pieces from her collection. I'm always happy to combine shipping whenever possible to save you money.
This is a beautiful figural perfume bottle shaped like a golden harp. There is a long thin tube vial that's topped with a crown shaped stopper. This sits in a goldtone plastic harp that's strung with thread. The harp sits atop a separate base of black wood with a red crushed velvet top. A paper label around the front of the base reads "PERFUME HARP D'AMOUR". The bottom of the harp reads "CLEVELANDT CORP. NEW YORK, N.Y. ~ DES. PAT. 120,119". There is also a paper label on the glass tube that repeats most of this info plus "1/8 FL OZ NET". The whole piece measures about 6 3/4" tall and about 1" of perfume remains in the vial. It is in excellent vintage condition.
Thanks so much for stopping by.
