VINTAGE FIGURAL NEEDLEPOINT TAPESTRY PILLOW - RED BOY
This portrait cushion is made from a beautiful hand worked vintage needlepoint embroidery that will bring an air of comfort and classic appeal to any room. Worked in soft and subtle coloured wools on a needlepoint canvas is 'Master Lambton' perhaps better known as 'The Red Boy'..........after the original oil on canvas by the English portrait painter 'Thomas Lawrence' (1769-1830). We have trimmed the cushion with a quality vintage European cotton tassel passementerie of 'old gold' and cappucino tassels with a pretty decorative border with ivory 'zig zag' highlights - we only use antique or vintage trims to embellish our cushions - never repro - as our personal feeling is that older textiles deserve older trims to compliment them. The main body of the cushion is vintage plush cotton velvet in a shade of 'old gold'....this has a higher pile and a more bristly texture than the shorter pile and softer cotton velvets (it's a beautiful, dense, colour....no patchy areas, that's just light reflection bouncing off the pile). A stunning cushion that will work in most room settings including period, antique, country style, vintage and cottage. It's a beautiful decorative accessory created entirely from vintage textiles that will add character and timeless beauty to your home. APPROXIMATE MEASUREMENTS: 15 1/2 inches wide x 9 inches deep with a top quality waxed cambric feather and down inner custom made for this cushion by renaissance-textiles. . Waxed cambric is a strong casing that contains the feather and down and prevents the feathers escaping.
