Here's a stunning, Navajo silver, turquoise & coral ring that we obtained at an estate sale in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
This terrific old beauty, crafted during the Fred Harvey era (1950's-1960's) features a turquoise stone and a nice piece of red coral that are both set in handmade silver bezels. Also adorning the front of the ring are a silver fan and a silver raindrop bead.
The size 11+1/2 ring weighed in at 18 grams on our postage scale. As with much vintage jewelry there is no artist's hallmark nor any stamp indicating the ring's silver content. We do not test for sterling silver as the acid in the testing kit tends to stain the silver.
Despite it's age and travels the ring is still in pretty good condition. The turquoise and coral have changed color a bit over the years, which is quite normal, and is usually caused by normal handling.The thick silver shank shows minimal signs of wear.
This wonderful example of genuine, handmade, Native American Indian art will certainly make a terrific addition to your jewelry collection.
