BRAUN-TELE-ENNALYT LENS
& CASE.
This lens and case
have been stored in an attic since May 1978 and were only recently
discovered.
LENS CASE:
The lens case
appears to be made of leather but I cannot confirm this. The
interior of the case appears to be of a felt or suede-like material.
The zip-fastener
works and though the exterior of the case bears a number of scuffs,
scratches and gouges there are no rips, tears or holes in the fabric.
The interior of
the case shows some wear and tear in that the felt/suede-like material
has given way where the lid opens and closes.
There is some
dark-coloured discolouration of the interior material,
particularly at the base of the case and the interieor of the lid,
where they have come into contact with the lens.
On the exterior
top of the lid the words "BRAUN NURNBERG" are stamped. "MADE IN WEST
GERMANY" is stamped on the exterior base of the case.
BRAUN LENS
As far as I can
determine the lens barrel appears to be made of aluminium. It is of
solid construction, black and silver in colour, and the lens barrel
extends and retracts smoothly when the focusing ring is rotated.
There are no
scratches to the glass that I can see but there is a slight flattening
on the barrel immediately above the words ENNALYT SLK. This flattening
can be seen in the bottom photograph.
The printing
around the lens reads as follows:
ENNA - Munchen
BRAUN - Tele - Ennalyt SLK 1:3.5 f = 13.5cm C
Nr.2646492
As far as I can
determine this lens was produced between 1952 - 1962.
Unfortunately I
have been unablle to test the lens on a camera so have no idea if it's
still functional. Please bear this in mind if bidding. |
