Vintage English Silver thimble, by Henry Griffiths & Son. For 82 years of age the condition is quite superb. The bottom rim is just a mere whisper out of round. No needle holes, pressure marks, distortions, or any other damage. It has a very crisp set of Hallmarks. HG&S., for Henry Griffiths & Son. Anchor stamp, being the Assay office for Birmingham. Lion Passant, which indicates English Sterling Silver. Upper register B., the date letter for 1926!! Size number 17! A gorgeous balance design. Generous plain base band, which carries the very distinct Hallmarks. The next half of the body is covered in the Daisy head design. The remainder of the casing is covered in the classic Honeycombe pattern. It measures 22. mm. high, with a large base diameter of 17, mm. It weighs in at 3.6. grams. A very beautiful all round thimble in great condition.
