This bottle measures 18.5cm in height. It has marble and seal inside. The markings, 'R' front of neck and 'R' on the rear of the neck. On the front "ROBERT RYDER" "TRADE MARK" Then there is a picture of a 'pit head gear' Wheel cables structure and cage. Below this is "REGISTERED" "St. HELENS". The base of the bottle is also marked "N & Co" "A7.1226".
Robert Ryder was a miner in the coal pits around St Helens in Lancashire, he finished with this and started his own business selling non-alcoholic drinks, his back ground in the pits is why he took the pit head gear as his trade mark.
