Up for auction is a very vintage ceramic trinket box or hair keepsake. I'm not sure, which. Measures 3 inches tall and 3 inches diameter. It features 2 different floral designs with brownish flowers on the lid.  The lid stems and bottom stems do not match up, that is when one is straight on, the other is off kilter.  There is crazing on this product but no chips or cracks that I can see or feel.  The inside lid is marked with a red number 40 and I have no idea what that means.  I got this at an estate auction, and since it is not marked with a makers mark I cannot tell you it's exact age.
