VINTAGE 40'S WEDDING DRESS/SLIPPER SATIN/CHENILLE DETAIL!














































This gown is crafted from early 40's slipper satin that almost disappears under the hand. The heavenly color "Moonlight," flatters any skin coloring. It's alluring with the sweetheart neckline, and heavy gathering at the bust-line for the effect most of us try to achieve.

The appliques of satin are in the form of florals and leaves~~100's of pearls that have taken on a beautiful deep patina, just like real pearls with age, and soft ivory chenille is set intermittenly, and add a chic appeal as well as dimension.

It secures center back with 32 self-covered buttons and loops. The sleeves are heavily gathered, and taper to a bridal point over the hand. The sleeves secure with 3 self-covered buttons and loops at the wrist.

The skirt is set in an exaggerated inverted "vee." There are 7 panels set in the front, which allows a long, lithe appeal, and gradually widening to the hemline.

The back is repeated with the exaggerated inverted "vee" on each side. This gown is especially suitable for a short-waisted woman, but of course it would look fantastic on anyone!

Measurements are: Bust: 32/34"(ease); Waist: 26"; Hips: Full; Hollow to hemline: 54"; Natural waist to edge of train: 80" Sleeves: 25" Issues: I see one button where the satin needs to be tucked in and resnapped. There are a couple of very small scrapes, however they are minute. It does need to be cleaned as there is soiling along the front edge of the gown~~I'm confident all this can be removed as it's nothing significant. Please be sure and use a reputable vintage cleaners. It's worth the effort. If you're planning a 40's wedding, this is a very sexy, feminine and chic gown.
