This is just one of six, thick card advertising show cards that have recently emerged from a village stores in Somerset. A previously sold item from this source was dated 1927. It is considered that this item is of that period and represents the advertising approach and the packaging of goods during the twenties. All were designed to hang or stand in the shop window, and have either stringing from two holes or a hinged back support, or both. It would seem that mostly these show cards were stored in an unused condition.
This card is completely ORIGINAL and NOT a reproduction, and whist in very good condition there may be slight surface markings or bruised corners.
The dimensions of this card are 8 ½ inches tall and 12 inches wide. This show card has a printed message on the reverse,’ respectfully’ asking that the card be used for the purpose intended. A visually pretty card.
This show card is a rare example of period advertising and a nostalgic glimpse of the past. Please click on, ’sellers other items’ to see the small collection.
