This is a relatively easy restoration project Norton 16H 500cc single
Matching frame and engine numbers and registration number is still visible but no V5
Included are a spare engine and quite a few new parts - piston, cams, handlebars to name a few
All in all this really is a bike in bits and not just a pile of odd parts

(International bidders - please contact us first if you wish to place a bid)
In response to various enquiries ....
ENGINE ~ very good, free running bottom end - suspect reconditioned big end and main bearings ~ new camshafts (not yet fitted) with good followers ~ good serviceable barrel (one chip to top fin) with new original piston and rings to fit (+ 040) ~ valves appear serviceable. Needs new guides and springs ~ good timing case, Norton cover with chain and sprockets
GEARBOX ~ very good unbroken and unwelded (suspect reconditioned) 4 speed Dolls Head gearbox ~ good sprocket fitted on the gearbox
PRIMARY ~ clutch appears good and complete though has gone a little rusty - wire brush required ~ engine sprocket is good ~ good straight unwelded pair of primary covers
FRONT END ~ fork blades are good solid and straight ~ girder linkages appear to be all present and in good order - all springs and spindles good, some new
TINWARE all the major tinware parts are present but will need stripping and painting: ~ mudguards (small patch and repairs needed on rear mudguard) ~ headlight shell, rim and mounting brackets ~ chain guard ~ oil tank ~ rear numberplate (the only major tinware part that seems to be missing is a battery carrier)
WHEELS ~ both wheels, hubs, spindles etc are good straight and solid (need painting) but will need bearings and brake shoes ~ the rear sprocket is worn and will need replacing
There are many other parts and boxes of bits too numerous to list but do contact me if you want to know about anything in particular
Further to enquiries ....
When I purchased this bike I was informed that it had been dated as 1938 .... however, several people have messaged me offering a different opinion.
As this project has no paperwork, all that seems to be certain is that it is between 1937 and 1944.
I have closely inspected the numbers on the frame and engine and these are definitely correct.
