VICTORIAN Solid Silver PEPPER POT Hallmarked 1889 NR

Horace Woodward & Company - STUNNING PIECE - Birmingham

This is a lovely VICTORIAN solid sterling silver pepper pot or pepperette with a push fit lid that was made in Birmingham, England in 1889 by the illustrious Victorian silversmiths, Edgar Finley and Hugh Taylor of Horace Woodward & Company at their Great Charles Street workshops. It is in a stunning half reeded design with a pierced lid, a loop handle and is raised on four ball feet. It measures almost 1 1/4" in diameter and stands 2 1/4" high. It weighs 28.1 grams - almost 1 troy oz.

The top still fits tightly. It has NO dents and almost NO dints with NO splits or repairs - just the usual light surface scratching and some compression to the finial - a very nice sterling silver collectors piece - SUPERB. It is hallmarked E.F over H.T, Victoria duty mark, lion passant (sterling silver assay mark), anchor, p showing that it was hallmarked in Birmingham in 1889. I have shown the hallmark so that you can make up your own mind. A RARE delightful and high quality VICTORIAN piece - in very good condition after 120 years!!!! - it is much nicer than my poor photographs!! Postage will be 3.50GBP both within the UK and to international destinations.

Please note that the primary postage costs are for second class (or standard parcels service if the postage cost is over 6.00GBP) within the UK or surface mail to international destinations. First class post usually adds 50% to the quoted postage cost while airmail is typically double the cost of surface mail. If you want to know about the timescales and charges by Royal Mail then I suggest you look at http://www.royalmail.com. Please wait for my invoice with postage options that will be sent very soon after the auction finishes!

The recommended last Airmail posting dates for Christmas are: Friday 04 December to South & Central America, Carribbean, Africa, Middle East, Asia, Far East (except Japan), Australia and New Zealand; Thursday 10 December for USA, Canada, Japan and Eastern Europe; and Friday 11 December for Westarn Europe. Packages posted after these dates may well arrive on time. I'll do my level best to get packages and items to you by Christmas. The recommended last UK posting dates are: Tuesday 15 December for Standard Parcels; Friday 18 December for Second Class; Monday 21 December for First Class and Wednesday 23 December for Special Delivery.

If you win more than one of my auctions, I am happy to combine packaging to reduce postage costs.

Low start and a no reserve auction because reserves spoil the fun.
