DESCRIPTION.

Please find for sale a rare Victorian sterling sivler hip flask, the threaded lid having a gilded straw attached to it and the head of this having a cover that swivels. I have never seen a flask of this type before and would appreciate any advise on it.

The initials 'B & C' are engraved to the front as shown.

SIZE (25.4mm to the inch )

The size is 112mm long x 59.4mm wide x 25.3mm deep.

WEIGHT (31.1g to the troy ounce)

The weight is 78.7g. Gross.

CONDITION.

This is in fairly good condition with no undue wear, damage or repair. There are a couple of pin head dings here and there. The swivel cover requires quite a bit of pressure to move it back and forth, there is no gasket between the cover and the top.

HALLMARKS & MAKER.

There are at least four hallmarks on the flask that I can see, they are all partially worn.

The hallmarks are for London, 1883.
