VICTORIAN/EDWARDIAN CHILD'S DRESS-BRODERIE ANGLAISE

Pretty, freshly laundered white child's/baby's dress, dating from the Victorian/Edwardian era. Length is 19 inches, which includes the 5 inch deep broderie anglaise flounce. When laid flat, underarm to underarm measurement is 14.5 inches, ie 29 inches all round. Please go by these measurements, rather than my estimated 2-3 years. The front has a large vertical pleat at either side, and also 3 sets of 3 vertical pintucks. It fastens at the back with 3 mother of pearl buttons and a drawstring through the neck. There is also a small tuck at each side of the back opening. The sleeves are trimmed with 2 pintucks each. The neck and dropped waist are trimmed with lace. The lace at the waist appears to have had ribbon slotted through at some time, so some of the lace appears more open. The ribbon could easily be replaced, and I can do that for the winner of the auction if desired. In excellent condition otherwise. See my other auctions for similar items.
