From the 1780 Marcolini Meissen period a rarely found work of art - an extra large pill or patch pedestal probably custom made for a doctor or chemist of the period.
It is beautifully painted on one side with a typically detailed Meissen harbour scene of two merchants with their barrels and bales awaiting the ships, and on the other side and top wonderful flowers and minute insects. (See pics.)
Fully marked with the underglaze blue crossed swords and star of the period. The condition is excellent, only slight scratches to the top outer rim. no chips, cracks or restoration.
Although of large size, this is definately not an urn pedestal because there is no hole in the top to secure the object. It measures 4.1/4" high by 5.1/4" in diametre.
Postage to Europe 12 sterling. Other destinations please ask me
