Fine Grade Vermiculite - 3 litres


The professional seed sower's secret - vermiculite is used to cover seeds after sowing in pots or trays, rather than using compost. As well as allowing light to reach the seeds (essential for some varieties), vermiculite will reduce the risk of damping off - the most common cause of germination failure. It can also be used to mix with compost for those seeds that require a more free draining compost.

3 litres is sufficient to cover approximately 12 full size seed trays to a depth of 3mm. Note that this listing is for fine grade vermiculite - the vermiculite sold in garden centres is usually medium grade, which is a bit coarse for many seeds.

Supplied boxed for secure carriage and ease of storage.
