This is the very rare London and Paris version of the popular John Gosnell & Co Bears Grease, measuring a little under 3 Inches in diameter and dating to the mid 19th Century. It has a manufacturing defect to the bear where a piece of clay stuck to it in the kiln, in addition it has an impact hairline crack underneath where it would fit onto the base. A superb rarity offered with no reserve.
