This tool is a classic example of an Aurignacian backed scraper. The flake scars and retouches are intact are very well determined and preserved (the tool is much better than the pictures) A backed scraper is described by Debenath as flakes or blades that have a scraper edge on one margin and a backed surface on the opposing edge which is perpendicular to the interior surface. This tool is a typical example of the early upper paleo technology.
