Unusual Painting on a Tray of Mdina Malta by Galia

An unusual painting on a tray by LGalia of Malta from the famous Galia family.It is of Mdina and has been covered with a film to protect the painting which sadly has failed in several places so it is not in good condition.The tray itself (18 by 12 1/2 ins or 46 by 32 cms)is on a white or blanched wood with metal handles and corners and does have a slight crack on the base.I accompany it with a print of the same scene puchased from the same Galia shop in Malta with the label on the back.The print is by Joseph Galia and dated 1984.It is 15 by 11 ins in frame.

This collectors item is starting at a low price due to the condition and would be a lot more if it was pristine.The Galia family have painted from Malta for over a hundred years ,early paintings sold in auction do reach several hundred pounds.
