is a charity item for Knoxwood Wildlife Rescue Trust. Knoxwood is a
registered charity; we rescue wild animals and birds, get them better
and re release them back to the wild. We have a purpose built wildlife
hospital in Wigton, Cumbria and we also rescue exotic pet species. We
currently have around 250 different animals and birds at our sanctuary

I am sure that there are hundreds of people out there who would love to know that their gift has made a real difference, our sponsorships are £10, of which the entire sum goes directly to your chosen animal at Knoxwood Wildlife Rescue Trust (registered charity 1079659) What do you get in return? We send you a 7"x5" picture of your chosen creature, an A5 Sponsor Certificate, an info leaflet on Knoxwood Wildlife Rescue Trust and a Knoxwood Christmas card (this years Christmas card design is either a badger or red squirrel) Our volunteers have funded the cards and pictures, so there is no outlay to the sanctuary. We also have some beautiful new hand crafted gemstone & Sterling Silver jewellery, donated by a local designer available in "my other items" from which 100% of the amount you pay goes to Knoxwood The Knoxwood Barn Owls The Barn Owl is probably one of the most frequent species Knoxwood treats. These beautiful and rare predatory birds are suffering from the destruction or their habitat, they are usually admitted to the sanctuary suffering from starvation, and often traffic accidents. Knoxwood cares for each individual Owls requirement, if they need a few days rest and food or major reconstructive surgery we try to provide every comfort and get them back on the wing and into the wild. We have at any one time around 20 Barn Owls at the sanctuary, some far too badly damaged to return to the wild (which we house in purpose built aviaries) and some just recovering and building up strength ready to go. |
