 Probably made circa 1900 - 1920

  A rare & interesting artefact with excellent craftsmanship constructed to a simple but effective folding design and housed in an oak box-frame.

 Used for piano practice but without the normally associated sounds thereof.

Comprising:-

 36 White Keys and 25 Black Keys covering 5 Octaves.

The Keys are of the same size as a full size piano each being steel spring loaded to provide the ‘touch’ of a piano.

 They are made of wood covered with faux black / white covering

The Keyboards are protected by folding lids (see photos).

Folded size is 17 inches long x 9¾inches wide x 5½ deep.

Unfolded size is 34 inches long x 9¾inches wide x 2¾ deep.

Weight – 10½ lbs (4.8 kilograms).

All External wood is Mahogany – glued and screwed using brass screws with brass hinges. Internal wood is both softwood and hardwood with perfectly made tenoned joints.

In the top left hand corner of the piece is a neat handwritten Name and Address - in ink :-
