An ultraviolet sterilizer is a canister unit which allows water to be passed through it at a specific flow rate. As the water passes through the unit, it passes a quartz (glass) sleeve and is exposed to harmful radiation from a germicidal (ultraviolet) bulb.  The rays from the bulb destroy algae spores, bacteria, fungus, viruses, parasites, protozoans and other free floating, undesirable pathogens...resulting in CRYSTAL CLEAR water. Pre-filters required if the feed-water contain particles.  Suitable for Aquarium Filtration.
