- Supplied in New Condition, sealed in plastic blister pack with pictorial assembly sheet and backing photo card.
Model Details
The model of the USS Enterprise CVN-65 is made from high quality injection moulded ABS plastic, this is a full hull model, well finished in a multi-tone grey, white and green paint scheme. The model is part-assembled. Additional parts to clip-together include some vertical mast detail and 12 x miniature Naval Aircraft (these are tiny and supplied on a sprue). Each model comes with a black plastic display base (with warship name printed in gold) - the model is suspended on two stilts.
Model Manufacturer
The Warship Collection (Volume 1) by Furuta of Japan, was released in 2004. There are 9 different models in this series including the Case Special Yamato (different colour scheme).This volume of models had a limited production run, and are now discontinued.
Brief Naval History
The U.S.S. Enterprise (CVN-65), formerly CVA(N)-65, is the world's first nuclear-powered aircraft carrier and the eighth U.S. naval vessel to bear the name. Like her predecessor of World War II fame, she is nicknamed the "Big E." At 1,123 ft (342 m), she is the longest naval vessel in the world, though her 93,500 tons displacement places her as the eleventh heaviest supercarrier, surpassed only by the ten carriers of the Nimitz-class..
Model Dimensions
The warship is in an approximate 1/2600th scale (possibly upto 1/2800th), the dimensions are as follows:
(Millimetres) :- 120 mm long, 30 mm beam.
(Inches) :- 4.8" inches long, 1.2" inches beam.
