The LS4008i-I200 laser is a highly popular barcode scanner from world leaders, Symbol/Motorola. The LS4008i is the last model added to the industry standard LS4000 series which dominated long range, general purpose and light industrial scanning for 10 years. It is in GOOD used condition, and like all our scanners, works perfectly - as the scan element of these scanners were issued with a lifetime warranty when new, expect it to last for many years. HOW DOES IT WORK ? With a very bright laser line, the scanner has a fantastic and sensitive reading range, from very near to the target to up to about 24 inches away ! Connecting barcode scanners through USB is great where you don't have a normal ps/2 keyboard required by the older style ps/2 keyboard scanners, or where you need to connect to a LAPTOP. The first time the scanner is connected to the USB port the keyboard emulation Windows HID (Human interface driver) installs and thereafter when a scan occurs the characters from the barcode appear on screen at the current cursor position as if they had been typed in, so any application that will accept typed characters will work with this scanner!
