US Pilot Oxygen Mask A-13A w/ Mic & Bailout Btl Connect

This is an A-13A Pilot Oxygen Mask. 

According to Jim Weld's guide (Flying Headgear of the World 1934-1945) this "pressure demand type" model was first introduced in 1945 for use at higher altitudes.  Although this one appears to be used post WWII (it has a modification tag glued on dated July 1960? - hard to read - see pic), it will display nicely to round out your collection with a late WWII type mask. 

Mask and hose are solid - no holes/cracks! 

Hose also has the Y connector for connecting to an H2 bailout bottle (see my other auction) during a bailout.  No straps.  Mic cord has a vintage field applied cord reinforcement add-on (see pics).   

This mask looked great in my display case and will look fine in yours!

At the gentle insistence of my lovely wife - I'm thinning out my WWII collection a bit by selling off some duplicates.

I would like to inform You that this rare A 13 mask is the type that was used by RAF Pilots in the mid fifties to be used with the Canadair Sabres Mk 2 (F 86A) and Mk 3 (F 86E) entered in service as a stop gap measure before the arrival of the more modern Hawker Hunter. It's identity is easy recognizable by the British Type switchable microphone placed in the "nose" area and by the black printed letters A M on the lateral flap , which means property of Air Ministery (Britain Air Ministery). This version of the original US made A 13 oxy mask , was intended to be used with type Mk 1 and/or Mk 2 RAF pilot helmets. Best Regards from Milan , Italy. Marco
