Mess Knife and Fork

 

Original M1874/M1885 [depending on the reference material one uses!] US Army mess knife and fork, both are one piece cast steel construction with the fork having traces of original black japanned finish on handle. No markings on either piece as was typical for most of these. Used throughout the Indian Wars/Spanish War period until began to be replaced by the M1904 series utensils. Nice set for your mess gear collection, also nice serviceable stuff for reenacting/living history use and in very good condition...one price gets 'em both!
