VERY UNUSUAL LITTLE ITEM, THIS LITTLE JAR IS MADE FROM SOME SORT OF STONE, LOOKS A BIT LIKE MARBLE, DEFINITELY NOT SOAP STONE. IT HAS A STRONG MAGNIFYING LENS TO THE LID AND LOOKS TO BE AN INSTRUMENT USED FOR VIEWING INSECTS, AND I BELIEVE IT TO DATE FROM THE VICTORIAN PERIOD, OR MAYBE EARLIER. LENS IS IN VERY GOOD ORDER. SOME  CHIPS TO THE JAR AND LID. HEIGHT 6.5cm DIAMETER IS 5.3cm. I POST WORDWIDE. THANKYOU FOR LOOKING
