Intriguing Carved Stone Jar.

Here i have a intriguing and unusual carved stone jar / receptacle that's in absolute great condition. The carving is of a branch and leaves. The only damage that i can see is so small it might not show in the photos but its between the two mating edges a chip or two half the size of a small pin head.

I have no idea what its for, but quite heavy for its size ie 3 Inches wide buy 3 Inches tall.
