Many drivers fail to realise that they do not look far enough ahead when driving. In other words they are driving with their eyes on dipped instead of main beam. Fatique, distractions and a boring journey WILL  also cause the driver's eyes to  drop to 'dipped'. This puts the driver at a greater risk of a collision or motoring incident.

This very common problem results in 'reacting to hazards' rather than anticipating them. How many times have you used the word 'suddenly' to describe a motoring incident?  The fact is, nothing in driving happens suddenly!  The clues are often there to be read and acted upon.

Chris Gilbert is one of the very top advanced driving instructors in the UK, with unsurpassed experience in the field of driver training dating back to 1964 as an RAC Registered Driving Instructor.
