U.S. GLASS EAPG HEAVY PANELLED FINECUT
 OPEN COMPOTE

This compote was made by the U.S. Glass company ca.1891. The pattern was officially listed as #800 from Geo. Ducan & Sons when they joined the U.S. Glass conglomerate in 1891 to form Plant D. Plant D burned in 1892.

This large open compote measures 8 inches tall, 7 inches wide at the flared rim, and a 4 3/4 inch base. It has what I thought were two large bubbles on the inside, but look like windshield bullseyes. I suspect something happen during the cooling process. May have been started by bubbles. It also has some nicks on the inside of the base rim, but are confined to a small area. May just be mold roughness. The compote has very nice clarity and luster for its age. Overall excellent condition.

Thank you for looking!
