An interesting and unusual pair of birds

They are either made of celluloid or horn, I am veering more towards horn because there is ridging on inside of birds

They are very sharp and brittle, I think that this is probably the reason for the damage to their feet

They have probably at some point in their history been mounted and used as book ends, I would think

I have no idea what type of birds they are. I have suggested that they might be Liver Birds, because I live in Liverpool!!

I know they are damaged, but they have the most fantastic eyes and they are sure to be a conversation piece
