This auction is for four metres of synthetic white(synthetic material not from the top end of the market!) tsuka-maki-ito for binding the hilt (tsuka) of a Japanese katana. Some would say that this synthetic material is better then cotton in white as white cotton will absorbe all dirt/blood etc very quickly! Most hilts need less ito than this though. This would be ideal for rebuilding a Paul Chen hilt or repairing an old WW2 blade. It could also be usefull for Iaido practice as the hilt binding does not last for ever if you train a lot! I also can supply longer lengths if needed-e-mail me for a quote. North London Budo sells high quality Iaido and Kendo equipment as well as sword furniture and koryu books.
