Welcome to my auction for our much-loved Trabby which we've had since 1994. I brought it back from Berlin where it belonged to a lady paediatrician from new, and who did her rounds in it. We used it daily when the kids were smaller & living at home, and latterly, we've trailed it behind our motorhome (hence the selection of pics showing it visiting Scotland, including one when it was the most northerly vehicle on the mainland UK at Dunnett Head!).
Trabants are much-maligned cars, and have suffered much unjustified bad press. They are extremely easy to look after, very reliable, do not smoke if you use good 2-stroke oil with the correct mix, and parts are available in abundance, either here on eBay or from suppliers, several of which are on-line (I will happily let you have details).
This car was part of my collection (see pic) and was consequently cared for and shown - we have downsized the collection over the last year as we recently moved - and it comes with almost a full year's test. The car is not perfect, and has a few minor blemishes (e.g. rear bumper corner) and would benefit from a good polish, but it is however in overall good condition, and will give you a huge amount of fun!
I can guarantee that you will always have a big grin on your face when you drive a Trabbi, and you will have people coming up to you asking all about it.
Terms of auction: £100 deposit payable by PayPal immediately on conclusion of the auction. The balance to be paid in cash on collection, which is your responsibility - the car is located about 10 miles east of Lincoln. I can deliver it to you by trailer provided you don't live a zillion miles away, and the cost will be my return fuel costs. It'll be my decision though whether delivery is possible to your location. Bidders with a feedback score of 5 or less must contact me before bidding, providing a landline number & address. This is purely due to previous bad experiences caused by the tiny minority.
