TiVo Thompson TiVo 40GB HD Recorder PVR

You are bidding on a used TiVo 40GB HD recorder, boxed with accessories.

The unit is in superb condition and works well - I now have Sky+ so it is surplus to requirements (although it is actually much nicer to use!)

What Is TiVo?

The digital video recorder connects easily with your existing television system and is compatible with terrestrial, Freeview, Sky digital or cable.*

Using your existing phone line, your digital video recorder makes a quick, free daily phonecall needed for the TiVo Service functionality and up-to-date programme information. And of course, TiVo will never interrupt incoming or outgoing calls.

You will need a subscription to use TiVo to it's full potential (£10 a month), however, the system knocks spots off of Sky+.

Alternatively, this box will make an excellent backup / replacement.

Pause live TV - with TiVo, you can pause live TV for up to 30 minutes so you won't miss a thing when you answer the phone or get yourself a drink. You can also fast forward, rewind, get instant replays and watch in slow-motion providing greater control over live and recorded TV!

Control when recording from Live TV - with TiVo you won't have to wait until the programme has finished recording to begin watching it. You can simply start watching whilst TiVo continues to record the rest. Plus, if you press RECORD partway through a programme you will be able to capture the stored portion as part of the recording.

TV Listings - TiVo provides up to 14 days of TV listings which you can view on-screen. You can find programmes listed by name, channel or time - so no more setting the timer when you want to record something - just highlight the programme and press select! TiVo can digitally record up to 40 hours worth of your favourite programmes and puts them all in one place for you to watch when you're ready. The TiVo Live Guide also has options that let you change quickly the programmes and channels the guide displays, or skip ahead to another date or time.

Thumbs Up/Thumbs Down - the more you use TiVo the more it understands your viewing preferences. TiVo learns your favourite shows and will suggest and even automatically record others you'll enjoy - so it's like your best friend watching TV for you! TiVo even has unique Thumbs UpTM and Thumbs DownTM buttons so you can tell TiVo what you like and perhaps more importantly, what you don't.

Search Using WishLists - lets you search for programmes by your favourite actor/actress or director, programme title, or even by keyword. You can even automatically record programmes based on WishList criteria.

Season Pass - The Season Pass allows you to record every episode of your favourite series- even if the scheduled time or day changes. Potential clashes between programmes booked as Season Passes will be avoided by the Season Pass Manager which allows you to set or change your recording priorities.

Overtime Scheduler - To capture sports events which go into extra time, or allow for any last-minute changes to the TV schedule, TiVo can be set to record up to ten minutes before the scheduled start time and up to three hours after the scheduled end of the programme.

Parental Controls - gives parents a tool to help manage their children's viewing by providing a password function to lock out specific channels or film ratings.

View Recording History - This feature helps you understand why a programme won't be recorded in the future, or why a scheduled recording didn't go ahead. You can also find out why a programme was deleted - either automatically by TiVo or by you!

View Upcoming Episodes - Any time you highlight the title of an unrecorded programme, you can display a list of upcoming episodes on all channels and determine which of these will be recorded.

Condition:

The condition of the unit is excellent. There is a tiny scratch on the front of the casing that is hard to see. The handsets shows a few signs of wear, but work perfectly (2 are provided, one silver and one black).

The original box, leads and full original instructions are provided.
