Thomas A Edison - Inventor, Scientist & Entrepreneur 11 Feb 1847 - 18 Oct 1931 This is a print of Thomas Edison in 1880, the Inventor & Scientist, who, when in September 1932 being lauded for his genius, famously told the world, " genius is 1% inspiration and 99% perspiration". Edison was personally responsible for numerous devices that have had great influence around the world including the long lasting practical electric light bulb, still known as the Edison screw, and the phonograph. He was one of the first to develop the concept of 'mass production' through llarge scale teamwork. He was one of the most prolific inventors in history holding 1093 U.S. patents alone and many others throughout the world. Edison's most influential legacy is likely to be originating the concept of electrical generation and distribution which has transformed modern life.
