Here we have an excellent example of pure craftmanship. A full size theodolite by R.W.Street & Co, Lambeth as inscribed on the compass face, although there is a label in the box which says Thomas Street & Son, Waterloo Bridge. I would estimate its late 1900 - early 20th. It is in brilliant working order with no cracks or damage on any of the eye pieces or levels. The brass and gun metal finishes are good considering its age. There is an original box and tri-pod, unfortunately the leather carry strap on the box has snapped through age. On the tri-pod the is a cap that covers/protects the thread when not in use. This work of art would look good on any display, either home or museum.
