Original Watercolour Painting 1883
by Charles Edward Wilson (1854 - 1941)
A very accomplished watercolour painting titled The Trysting Place by Charles Edward Wilson. The painting depicts a women on a bridge talking to a man who is leaning on a fence below, this was an agreement between the two lovers, to meet at a certain time and place. The painting is in fine condition and is mounted behind glass and presented in a giltwood frame. The painting is signed and dated bottom left.

Charles Edward Wilson born in 1854 in Whitwell, Nottinghamshire. Wilson was a watercolour painter who painted rustic genre subjects. Wilson lived in Sheffield from 1889 where he studied at Sheffield School of Art. Wilson moved in between Sheffield and Surrey throughout his life and finally settled in Surrey when he died in 1941 aged 87. One of Wilson’s paintings is currently in a collection at The Victoria and Albert Museum, please see the link below.
