When thrill seeking billionaire Thomas Crown's world becomes too stiflingly safe, he decides to pull off his boldest stunt ever by stealing a priceless painting, in broad daylight, from one of Manhattan's most heavily guarded museums. However, when beautiful insurance investigator Catherine Banning is hired to retrive the artwork, she proves to be every bit as intelligent, cunning, and hungry for adventure as he is.
