The item being offered is a beautiful copy of The Original Water-Color Paintings of John James Audubon for the Birds of America by John James Audubon.. The 2 volume set with Slipcase was published by American Heritage Publishing Co., New York, copyright 1966, a first edition. There is an introduction by Marshall B. Davidson. Volume I: contains 223 full color plates, nine of which fold out. Volume II contains 207 full color plates, nine of which fold out. The books are bound in the publisher's original brown buckram, with decorated endpapers, gilt lettering on brown spine panels, and the author's initials stamped in gilt on the front boards. The slipcase has an attached ribbon to aid in pulling the books out. The books are in near fine condition with little to no shelf wear. The slipcase has some light rubbing on the corners. I am going to give you the opportunity to buy this set at a low starting bid of $19.99, when you would have to pay over $75.00 at some bookseller sites for a set in this condition.
