The Cup - 1932 (50 years of the FA Cup) Rare book 1st

This rare book marks the first 50 years of the FA Cup, with photographs of each winning team. It starts with a photograph of the winning 1882-1883 team, Blackburn Olympic (looking very different from today’s players!) right through to the1931-1932 winning team, Newcastle United.

Also contains photos and player details for every other winning club, including Arsenal, Aston Villa, Barnsley, Blackburn Olympic, Blackburn Rovers, Bolton Wanderers, Bradford City, Burnley, Bury, Cardiff City, Everton, Huddersfield, Manchester City, Manchester United, Newcastle United, Notts County, Notts Forest, Preston North End, Sheffield United, Sheffield Wednesday, Tottenham Hotspur, West Bromwich Albion and Wolverhampton Wanderers. There are photos of all of these teams, fascinating to see how players have changed.

There are some adverts in the book, such as for “Drink Milk” which has an endorsement from the Arsenal trainer, saying how his team used considerable quantities of milk in their training. There are also adverts for Woolworths, Vernon Pools and many others.

The book’s condition is in only fair condition, but the book has only card covers and copies of this book are rare, and tend to be in this state. The book is complete and attached to the central staples. The covers are bumped to the edges, slightly torn to the edges, the spine is torn and rubbed, small name on the front cover, browning to the covers and some general wear. There is some slight pulling to the staples, but the book is still fully attached. The pages in the book are in good condition, slight rubbing to the corners and some slight browning. Minor marks and some slight creasing. Some rubbing to the corner of the pages, especially at the base of the spine. Some general reading wear.
