| | Album notes | This is an Enhanced CD, which contains regular audio tracks, multimedia computer files, and a link to the artist's website with the help of a web browser. The Calling includes: Alex Band (vocals); Aaron Kamin (guitar, mandolin, sitar, percussion, loops); Sean Woolstenhulme (guitar); Paul Mirkovich (Hammond B-3 organ, keyboards); Bob Glaub (bass); Matt Lang, Nate Wood (drums, percussion); Satnam Ramgotra (tabla, percussion); Ron Fair (programming).Recorded at Cherokee Studios, Hollywood, California. These savvy young gents from Los Angeles have incorporated a variety of influences on CAMINO PALMERO for a hitbound sonic ride that will appeal to several camps of listeners. On the one hand, there's the voice of appropriately named Alex Band, which lands somewhere in between Creed-like declamation and Third Eye Blind modern pop. The rest of the band similarly pitches its approach in a free-trade zone where breakbeats, hard-edged guitars, sparkling pop melodies, and folk-rock-derived arpeggios all coexist without conflict. It doesn't hurt matters that the Calling has a knack for hook-laden songwriting, as evidenced by everything from the up-tempo opening cut "Unstoppable" to the delicate ballad "Could It Be Any Harder."
