This edition, published in 2005 is new from the press.  The book had previously been out of print for ten years.

The art work, (which is extraordinary) has been digitally remastered and is better than the original edition.

There are over fifty colour plates on full pages taken from Dick Twinney's original paintings.

These detailed paintings are the creation of an artist whose whole life revolves around the natural world.  His home is sanctuary to a menagerie of creatures, some of them maimed through injury.

Dick Twinney is a well known character and artist in his home in North Cornwall, where variety and beauty of the landscape and its wildlife, are this artist's inexhaustible supply of raw material.

His work has been exhibited widely both in the UK and abroad, particularly USA and been used for book illustrations and decorative pottery (Royal Doulton an example).
