Jaques, and photographic, author portrait on rear), loose-plastic protected dustjacket nominally edgeworn, and partially U.V. affected (sunned) on spine. The memoirs of Peter Roach, a member of the British 8th Army Royal Tank Regiment during WW2. Prior to the war he was a merchant seaman, after the war he had a variety of careers, including teaching. This book tells of his time as a 'Desert Rat' at El Alamein, Wadi Halfa, Tunis, Salerno, Garigliano, Normandy, and Holland. 11 uncaptioned chapters, plus postscript. Book weight approx. 360g. Ex libary book so comes complete with the usual stamps/markings etc.
