Tenchijin Ryaku No Maki

This book is writen by Paul Richardson (author of the Bujinkan history book) and it contains the step by step instructions for all the kata in the Tenchijin Ryaku no Maki from his personal training notes. This book is regarded by many as the complete basis for all the basics found in the Bujinkan Dojo.

· Ten Ryaku No Maki contains the basic skills of the Bujinkan Dojo, Ukemi/Kaiten (Rolling), Kamae (Postures), Sanshin No Kata, Kihon Happo, Ken (fists) etc.

· Chi Ryaku No Maki contains the different Nage (throws), Gyaku (locks), Keri (kicks) and Shime (chokes) that are found in the Bujinkan Kata.

· Jin Ryaku No Maki consists of a selected number of various Kata from the different Ryu-ha that are studied in the Bujinkan Dojo.

There are no photos in this book, only text for the kata. Each kata is loaded with kanji for every Japanese term as they appear in the Kata.

At the back of the book there is also a glossary of all Japanese terms used, with english translation of each term and Japanese characters for each one mentioned. There is also a list of all Kyusho (weak point) and details of there location on the body. This has been added to help you further understand the contents of the book, these two additions are not found in the original Japanese version.

Please note: this book does not contain a photocopy or scan of the original text, and it does not contain a translation of the original Japanese text (I have noted this because some people on forums have tried to claim that it does). Neither does it contain step by step photos of the kata, only descriptions.
