Technics 1210 Mk2 Turntable *Spares or Repairs*

You are looking at a damaged Technics SL-1210 MK2 turntable that is being sold for spares or repairs.

There are two issues with this turntable.

The story goes...

I was packing my stuff down ready to move out of rented accommodation. After unplugging my turntables and mixer I decided to move them into the spare room and made the rather unwise decision of placing them on the floor. Later that evening my inebriated housemate decided to go into that room and without turning the light on, he walked in and stood on one of my decks.

The turntable had the dust cover on it which took up most of the force, but the cover broke away from its hinges causing it to slide sideways. This is where the damage occurred as can be seen in the second picture, the side of the dust cover has collided with the pitch fader and bent it inwards. This is the only visible damage to the turntable.

The first issue therefore is that the pitch fader is buckled. This still pitches the platter though and I assume that it does this accurately.

The other and more serious issue is that of the tone arm. There is no visible damage but when playing a record, after a short while the arm just seems to pull back slightly and the record skips.

Otherwise, the deck is in excellent condition and had been very well looked after up until the point of contact with my housemates foot. You can see from the 4th picture that both the target light and the power light work properly.

I still have the cracked dust cover, it is only cracked on the side of the hinges so the topside still covers the entire deck.

The item can be collected from High Wycombe area or courier can be arranged for prompt delivery. Cash on collection is much preferred but Paypal payment can be accepted.
