The new 2007 EZcube® includes the advanced new built-in EZrigging support feature, a totally unique feature not found on any other product. Used with the additional EZrigging Kit (available separately) this allows small items to be suspended or supported in numerous innovative new ways. Small items that are difficult to support by themselves can now be suspended using the EZrigging System, making it possible to produce shadowless and natural-looking images in a way not previously possible.
As always, EZcube® is staying miles ahead of all other light tents by introducing these unique advanced features.

A sun catcher is suspended inside a 20" 2007 EZcube® using the new EZrigging support system and the EZrigging Accessory Kit. The new built-in EZrigging supports the additional support rod from which the sun catcher is suspended using "invisible thread" (a very fine translucent strand). One EZclip is used to hold the thread tightly. The EZclip is able to rotate through 360 degrees allowing the sun catcher to be rotated into any position or angle. The background is then easily removed using photo editing software such as Photoshop or Photoshop Elements.

Why You Really Need Proper Lighting
The key to the ideal lighting for product photography is diffusion. Harsh lighting can cause shadows, glare, reflections and hotspots. The EZcube® is the ideal way to diffuse the light. Although it is possible to illuminate the EZcube® using sunlight the availability of sunlight tends to be unreliable so a professional lighting solution is required. A good balance of lighting is achieved by illuminating the EZcube® from two opposing sides, although please note that no single light position will work for every item or every situation.
We recommend using Perfect Daylight Compact Fluorescent Lighting as they use very little power for the light they produce making them eco-friendly, they stay cool and so are safe to touch - they do not heat up the lamp holders, EZcube® or the products being photographed (especially important for some products) - and they have a long lifespan.
Why You Need the Correct Colour of Light
The colour of light (known as the Colour Temperature) is measured in units of Kelvin (K). The range of the Kelvin (K) scale for visible light is 1500 to 9000. The lower the number the warmer or more yellow the colour and the higher the number the cooler or more white and blue there is in the colour. The human eye is not able to see all of the colour in the range of colour temperature. The ideal colour temperature of light for product photography is 5000K - a pure white that mimics perfect natural daylight at midday. This provides the best colour balance without the need for filters or software editing. This is particularly important if you want accurate colour representation (so that your images to look the same colour as the item) - if you are selling products on the basis of web images you must have accurate colour that truly reflect the colour of the item.
Many photographic lights on offer are only 3200k or similar or may be as high as 6400k. Lights of a colour temperature less than 5000k will tend to introduce an orange or yellow hue to your images that is very hard to remove. Lights of a colour temperature above 5500k will tend towards a blue/white light and this can also adversely affect the colour balance.
Natural Light in the UK is 5000k for the majority of the year. If you are working in a room with a window, the light from your window will likely be 5000k. Unless you have black out blinds, you need to be sure that your photographic lighting is 5000k or else you will be mixing light colours which can also adversely affect the colour balance.
